Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods recently recorded the biggest and worst loss the President’s Cup has ever seen. Both Woods and Steve Stricker failed to win a hole on Thursday or make a birdie.

This comes as a great surprise since these two were the unbeatable pair not many years ago in California in which the United States won the tournament. While K.J.Choi and Adam Scott played relentlessly at the Royal Melbourne by keeping the ball in play and making a lot of birdies, Woods and Steve Stricker on the other hand, self destructed them. The international side won seven and six.

This match went twelve holes and the only other match that went so far was in the year 1994, almost a decade ago. The president’s cup held in the year 1994 was memorable for David Frost beat Kenny Perry in the singles and surprisingly by the same score.

Tiger Woods and his previous caddie, Steve Williams, exchanged a businesslike and firm handshake on the first day of the tour at the first hole. Their interaction was limited to the handshake and they did not cross paths the rest of the tournament. Many were expecting fireworks for the two have had a very strained relationship after his caddie made racist comments about Tiger Woods.

Though Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods failed miserable in the tournament, it truly belonged to Adam Scott and K.J.Choi. Adam Scott played beautifully and was very crisp off the tee and also into the firm greens. Adam Scott has got Tiger Wood’s ex caddie Steve Williams as his caddie now and both seem to be gelling along fine.

Steve Stricker confirmed that he was a bit off right since the start of the tour. He acknowledged the fact that he has not been up to the work and seems to have lost his touch.

Rory Mcilroy was named in the New Year’s Honours List of Britain last Thursday along with several other sportsmen. It’s a huge honour and achievement for the Northern Irishman.

The reigning US Open champion, Rory Mcilroy received the prestigious Member of the British Empire which is considered to be the very first rung on the Britain’s honours ladder.

Rory Mcilroy won the much coveted US Open in June at the Congressional course with a low score of 16-under-par, two hundred and sixty eight – a record low score. His achievement of being able to win the first major of his career was made all the more memorable because of his heart-breaking collapse in the very last round of the US Masters. This victory was sweet and showed that he has nerves of steel to go on and close out the tournament.

Rory Mcilroy commented that he was delighted to have been included in the Queen’s New Year Honours List and considered it to be an honour to be included with other such great achievers.

Rory Mcilroy is considered by fans all over the world to be the next big thing, and after the Major win and the MBE has the confidence to go on and fulfil his potential.

He is currently out of action whilst he has some ankle sprain treatment, but should be back to wow-ing the masses in the British Open.
