Poulter Keen to be in Action at the Ryder Cup

Ian Poulter, one of the wildcard holder of the European Ryder Cup team, can’t wait for too long to get started with the Ryder Cup. Jose Maria Olazabal, the skipper of the European Team, picked Poulter for his Ryder Cup team. It will be for 4th time that Poulter will be appearing for the Ryder Cup.

Ryder Cup has always been a special preference for Poulter. Although he was not amongst his best touch since last few months but he was absolutely sure that he would make it to the Ryder Cup team. Recently he tied for the 3rd place at the PGA Championship but he was denied the automatic spot as Sergio Garcia bagged the victory in the Wyndham Championship.

The other wildcard holder, Belgium’s Nicolas Closaerts, is also very excited to be the member of the team. He will be the first ever Belgian to make it to the Ryder Cup. Poulter, too, is happy about him and said that Colsaerts has improved a lot in recent days. Talking about the European Team Ian Poulter asserts that they do have a strong side with a wide range of variety. He also states that the US team, too, possesses some great quality. As the Ryder Cup is taking place in long and vast Medinah, the US players will have an advantage because they generally hit longer that the Europeans.

Ian Poulter became the father of his son earlier this year. So it seems that he is eager to put up a great show and win it for Europe as a gift to his son. After missing some tournaments when he came back to the game he played superbly in the European Tour and the PGA Championship though didn’t manage to register a victory. While talking about the Ryder Cup he says that he loves the US crowd cheering after a good shot or a difficult putt and has asked to Bring It On!
